Basic Level 2 (A2) comprises 180 teaching units, including 15 hours of communication lessons.
The prerequisite for participation in Basic Level 2 is an A1 certificate with approx. 180 teaching units. A placement test for Basic Level 2 is mandatory for external participants.
Basic Level 2 requires sufficient knowledge of the language skills acquired at Basic Level 1 and aims on the one hand to practise the grammar structures relevant at this level. On the other hand, the skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing – are intensively trained and developed to prepare the students for the following course level Intermediate 1 (B1).
Work is done with a textbook and workbook (Encounters A2+) and with materials put together by the teacher.
An exam is held every week to check the progress in the different areas.
Passing the final exam at the end of the course entitles the students to participate in the Intermediate 1 (B1).
