Assessment test

The assessment test – FSP for short – is the “examination to determine the suitability of foreign applicants for studying at universities in the Federal Republic of Germany”. IBZ Studienkolleg prepares you for the external assessment test in NRW, Germany.

After passing the assessment test, you can apply for a university place anywhere in Germany.

Linguistic requirements

In order to be able to take part in the assessment test, knowledge of German at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. A recognized German certificate from one of the following educational institutions is required for this:

  • Goethe certificate B2
  • telc B2
  • TestDaF – minimum TDN 3 in every of four German skill areas
  • DSH-1 from a university with a valid registration with the HRK
  • DSD-1

One of the German certificates which is mentioned above, is also a prerequisite for participation in our Studienkolleg.
