The aims of the course:
The learning objective of the course follows the course programme (textbook), but topics such as grammar are supplemented and extended by additional exercises. At this level, the subject areas listed in the textbook are covered in full.
The prerequisite for participation in the Intermediate 1 (B1) is an Elementary 2 (A2) certificate with min 360 hours of intensive German as a foreign language. A placement test for Intermediate 1 (B1) is obligatory for external participants.

Course description:
The focus of this course is given to vocabulary, oral and written summaries of texts in the book of the course, as well as additional texts and listening. Summarizing texts for audio exercises will be made as in oral form as well in written form.
The course will fully cover the following topics: Nominalisierungen (temporale, kausale, konzessive, konditionale etc.), das Passiv (werden-Passiv, sein-Passiv nur Präsens und Präteritum), das Konjunktiv II –Passiv etc., Passiversatzformen, Indirekte Rede (Konjunktiv I).
You will also train and repeat these grammatical topics in subsequent courses.
Topics from the book of the course will be extended with materials for reading and listening, as well as with other materials. 5 weeks after the start of the course, students begin to work with more complex texts and exercises.
At the end of the Intermediate 1 (B1) course, students will write a final exam. The exam consists of 4 parts: reading, listening, grammar and text production. Students who pass the final exam will be eligible to participate in the Intermediate 2 (B2). Students who pass the exam for the Intermediate 1 (B1), will receive an Intermediate 1 (B1) certificate.
